A new HPP worth 500 million euros is being built in Uzbekistan

A new hydroelectric power station is being built in the Sharaf-Rashidovsky district of the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan. CENERGOO is engaged in the implementation of the investment project. The main purpose of the construction is to ensure a stable supply of electricity to residential buildings and social facilities in the region, the press service of the khokimiyat reports.

It is planned to fully put the HPP into operation by 2026. It is expected that the launch of the station will create 250 new jobs for the local population.

According to the khokimiyat, the total cost of the HPP project is estimated at 500 million euros. As part of its implementation, 34.5 million US dollars of foreign investments were disbursed during 2024. The import of technological equipment in the amount of 5.6 million dollars is planned for 2025.
