Tajikistan has already spent more than 48 billion somoni on the completion of the Rogun Dam
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon announced today the need to accelerate the pace of construction of the Rogun Dam while maintaining the high quality of work. He set this task during a meeting with the builders of the hydroelectric power station and representatives of the authorities in the city of Rogun.
The importance of accelerating the construction of the hydroelectric dam in accordance with international standards was noted. This is necessary for the timely commissioning of the next Dam units within the time limits set by the schedule.
During the meeting, data on the financing of the Rogun Dam project were announced. Since the beginning of this year, 4.3 billion somoni has been allocated from the budget for construction work. The total amount allocated by the Government of the country to complete the construction of the hydroelectric power station since 2008 from the state budget and other sources exceeded 48.1 billion somoni (approximately 5 billion US dollars at the current exchange rate).
