A new small hydroelectric power station has been launched in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan

In the Kadamzhai district of the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan, the construction of a new small hydroelectric power station called Bazarbai Ata has been completed. The energy facility located on the territory of the Maidan Aiyl aimag is fully ready to start work, as reported by the regional administration to the Kabar News Agency.

It is expected that the commissioning of the HPP will reduce the load on the general energy system of the Batken region and will help to more stably provide electricity to the local population. The implementation of the project also had a social effect – 10 permanent jobs were created at the new enterprise for residents of the district.

The construction of the HPP became possible thanks to the partnership of private business and a financial institution. The project was implemented at the expense of private investors who invested 8 million soms. A similar amount in the form of a loan was provided by the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund (KRFR), which made it possible to bring the facility to full readiness.

At the moment, successful tests of the first of the three units have already been carried out. It was launched in test mode, and the equipment confirmed its operability. The capacity of this unit is 200 kW, while the total installed capacity of the entire hydroelectric power plant after the launch of all capacities will reach 600 kW.
