UAE investors plan to build small Dams in Tajikistan

Within the framework of the international “Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week – 2026”, negotiations were held between official representatives of Tajikistan and the business circles of the United Arab Emirates. Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Manuchehr Safarzoda held a meeting with the management of the investment company “40 Capital”, the press service of the Ministry reports.

The key topic of the dialogue was the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The parties discussed in detail the prospects for the development of “green” generation, as well as mechanisms for attracting direct investment in the development of renewable energy sources. Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of joint projects aimed at strengthening energy security and environmental sustainability of the region.

Representatives of the company “40 Capital” expressed substantive interest in financing the construction of small hydroelectric power plants in Tajikistan. Investors from the UAE declared their readiness to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing hydropower potential of the republic. In the near future, it is planned to establish close cooperation with relevant structures of Tajikistan to study the technical and economic parameters of possible sites for the construction of future power facilities.
