The investor presented to the Ministry of Energy a report on the project of the Kazarmansky cascade of the HPP
The Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted a working meeting of the head of the department Taalaibek Ibraev with the management of JSC Central Asian Investment Holding. The key topic of the negotiations was the preparation of a preliminary feasibility study for the construction of the Kazarmansky cascade of the HPP, the press service of the department reports.
The dialogue was attended by representatives of the management team of the investor company, including member of the Board of Directors Gezer Selchuk, Chairman of the Management Board of Sur Mukhammet Haluk and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Tariel Ermeev. The parties got acquainted with the presentation of the project and discussed the coordination of further steps to implement it within the framework of existing agreements. Representatives of the holding informed the leadership of the Ministry about the current status of the work and the results achieved at the preliminary design stage.
The basis for cooperation is the investment agreement signed between the Cabinet of Ministers and JSC Central Asian Investment Holding on August 2, 2025. The document provides for a full cycle of work – from design and construction to operation of hydroelectric power plants and electricity generation.
According to the plan, the total installed capacity of the future cascade will be 912 MW. The complex will include three facilities: the largest Alabuga HPP with a capacity of 600 MW, as well as the Kara-Bulun-1 HPP and the Kara-Bulun-2 HPP with a capacity of 149 MW and 163 MW, respectively.
The estimated amount of investments in the project is estimated at $ 3 billion. The implementation of a large-scale initiative is expected to be entirely at the expense of the investor’s own funds, without attracting funding from the state.
