Kyrgyzstan invites Austrian companies to invest in HPP projects

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov held talks with Federal President of Austria Alexander Van Der Bellen in an expanded format as part of his official visit to Austria. This was reported by the press service of the Presidential Administration.

During the meeting, Sadyr Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan is interested in attracting investments, best practices and technologies of Austria to the economy of Kyrgyzstan.

“President Sadyr Japarov noted the strategic importance of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 construction project, spoke about the construction of 50 small and medium-sized HPPs in the country, some of which have been completed and put into operation. The Head of state invited Austrian companies to participate in the implementation of these projects,” the statement said.

The Head of State added that Kyrgyzstan has significant potential in the field of tourism development, mentioning the start of construction of the largest ski cluster in Central Asia — the Kyrgyz Courchevel, capable of receiving up to 850 thousand tourists annually.

“The President expressed interest in sharing experience and best practices in this area with Austria,” the ministry summed up.
