The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Khokim Kholikzoda is taking part in the 58th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which began its work on May 4 in Milan (Italy). As part of the first day of the meeting, the delegation of Tajikistan held meetings with Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank Ingmin Yang, Director General of the Central and West Asia Department Yevgeny Zhukov, as well as ADB Executive Director Vikas Shil.
During the meetings, various aspects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the ADB support project for the construction of the Rogun Dam. The Bank reaffirmed its readiness to allocate $ 500 million for the implementation of this important project, which will make a significant contribution to the “green” development not only of Tajikistan, but also of neighboring countries.
The delegation also participated in the consultative session of the Asian Development Fund, which mobilizes resources from various sources for the implementation of grant projects in the least developed and developing countries. Tajikistan is one of the largest recipients of grants from this fund.
