It is planned to build another 40 microHPPs in the Tashkent region

Of the lands located on the territory of cities and districts of the Tashkent region and not used in agriculture, 40 land plots with a total area of 6.59 hectares have been allocated for permanent use for the needs of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It is planned to build small hydroelectric power stations (microelectric power stations) at these locations under the conditions of identifying winners by tender bidding; these land areas will be sold at auction.

It is planned that such micro-hydroelectric power stations will be built in the Pskov, Akhangaran, Bekabad, Yukorichirchik, Bostanlyk, Kibray, Chinaz, Buka, Yangiyul, Zangiatinsky districts and within the cities of Angren, Almalyk, Bekabad, Chirchik.

Earlier, a corresponding decision was signed by the khokim of the Tashkent region on the construction of 43 microhydroelectric power plants in the capital region.

In total, 264 locations were initially identified for the construction of these hydro facilities; to date, 102 locations in the Tashkent region have allocated areas for small hydropower plants where construction work is underway.
