Tajikistan will expand cooperation with Russia in the field of hydropower
The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation is working on a possible expansion of cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of hydropower. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the department with reference to the negotiations of the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Roman Marshavin with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma and the Minister of Finance Fayziddin Kahhorzoda.
The parties also discussed the activities of a joint Dam in Tajikistan.
“The Russian Ministry of Energy is working on opportunities to expand Russian-Tajik cooperation in the field of hydropower,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Energy noted that during the negotiations the parties discussed the receipt by the “System Operator” of the status of a full member in the Coordinating Electric Power Council of Central Asia, as well as the activities of the Russian-Tajik enterprise Sangtudinskaya Dam-1. In addition, the ministers of the two countries raised the issue of necessary steps to reduce the accumulated debt of the Tajik side.
The staff of Sangtudinskaya Dam-1 was awarded departmental awards by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the department added.
