The electricity of the Rogun Dam will go to Kazakhstan in a shortage period only

Tajikistan has unveiled a draft agreement with Kazakhstan, which involves the supply of electricity to the country from the Rogun Dam. The text of the document is published on the portal of legal information of the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan.

According to the project, the planned transmission of electricity will be carried out via interstate transmission lines, taking into account the technical capabilities of neighboring countries in transit.

“The Settlement and Financial Center for the Support of Renewable Energy Sources, which is a subordinate organization of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, in accordance with the agreement, concludes an agreement on the supply of electricity with JSC Rogun Dam,” the Tajik agency said in a statement.

The term of the contract is 20 years, then it can be extended for another 10 years.

Scheduled electricity supplies from the Rogun Dam will be carried out only during the period of shortage in the North-South zone of the Unified Electric Power System of Kazakhstan.

The transit of electricity to the border of Kazakhstan will be carried out by JSC Rogun Dam.

The cost of planned electricity is 3.4 cents per 1 kWh (including VAT paid at a rate of 0%), the volume is determined according to approved daily transmission tables.
