Installation of turbines has been completed at the Orto-Tokoyskaya HPP under construction in Kyrgyzstan

The construction of the Orto-Tokoyskaya HPP, with a design capacity of 21 MW, has reached the final stage. According to official data of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the overall readiness of the facility is currently estimated at 80%. The commissioning of the hydroelectric power plant into commercial operation is scheduled for the first half of 2026.

A detailed report on the implementation of the key stages of the project was presented by JSC “Chakan HPP”, acting as the customer of the work. The construction of the main building of the hydroelectric power station is almost complete – the degree of its readiness has reached 90%. To date, the construction teams have already completed the installation of the roof frame and moved on to laying the roofing, ensuring the closure of the thermal circuit of the building.

In parallel, large-scale work is underway on hydraulic structures. The penetration of the derivation tunnel, the length of which is 950 meters, has been fully completed. Now specialists are engaged in concreting its reinforced concrete cladding, which is necessary to ensure the tightness and durability of the conduit under future loads.

Significant progress has also been made in terms of the technical equipment of the HPP. Specialists have already completed the installation of the main generating equipment, including three hydro turbines and disc valves. In addition, a complex of works has been carried out on the reinforcement and concreting of columns intended for the installation of lifting mechanisms of the spillway channel, which will ensure the regulation of water flows.

The construction site of the HPP is also actively preparing for the installation of a complex engineering structure – a tunnel junction with three exits. Metal structures with a total length of 168 meters have already been installed and welded in two of them. As emphasized in the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, the work is carried out in accordance with the approved schedule, ensuring a systematic approach to the date of commissioning of the station.
