Kyrgyzstan Announces Tender for Kambar-Ata-1 HPP Geological Surveys

The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan announced a tender on February 5, 2026, for engineering and geological surveys for the Kambar-Ata-1 Hydropower Plant project. The procurement, posted on the national state procurement portal, is part of a technical assistance project for the plant’s construction. The scope of work includes a series of on-site engineering and geological studies at the proposed location of the hydropower facility.

The procurement will be conducted using an unlimited method with a two-envelope procedure. This process entails the separate evaluation of the technical and financial components of each proposal. A pre-tender meeting and site visit for interested parties are scheduled for February 12, 2026. The deadline for application submissions is 14:00 local time on February 23, 2026.

All proposals must be submitted exclusively through the state procurement portal. Participation is open to qualified companies that comply with the tender documentation and Kyrgyzstan’s national legislation. This development follows the recent completion of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the Kambar-Ata-1 project. The environmental coalition Rivers without Boundaries participated in the assessment discussions and submitted a comprehensive list of comments on various environmental aspects of the proposed plant.
