Russian software will work at a hydroelectric power station in Uzbekistan with Chinese equipment
The Russian software developer, Rakurs Group of companies, enters the energy market of Uzbekistan. The company has signed a contract to implement its domestic control system “Raskada” at one of the country’s hydroelectric power stations.
A unique combination of technologies will be a feature of the project: Chinese equipment controlled by Russian software will be used at the facility. According to Leonid Chernigov, General Director of Rakurs-Engineering, this sets an important precedent. “This is an interesting case: the hardware is Chinese, and the automation is Russian. We prove that we can offer effective solutions for mixed technical complexes,” he said. Thus, the project will demonstrate the flexibility and competitiveness of Russian developments in the international arena.
The “Storyboard” system, created in St. Petersburg, is a specialized software package of the SCADA class. It provides dispatchers with an intuitive interface for monitoring and managing complex power equipment in real time. The development of this product required an investment of about 35 million rubles.
The entry into the international market was preceded by successful testing and implementation of the system at key energy facilities in Russia. Before the implementation of the Uzbek project, Raskada will be deployed at the Boguchanskaya HPP, one of the largest hydroelectric power stations in the country. The company also plans to introduce the system at Sredneuralskaya GRES and Balakovo NPP.
