Krasnogorsk HPP: the state expert examination issued a negative conclusion
On May 23, Russian experts from the Main Directorate of State Expertise completed the review of documentation on the construction project of the Krasnogorsk hydroelectric complex on the transboundary Irtysh River. According to the official records of examinations No. 55-1-2-3-028051-2025 and No. 55-1-2-3-028059-2025, design materials and engineering survey results worked on by specialists from almost a dozen companies from Omsk, Moscow and St. Petersburg received a negative conclusion, Gorod55 reports.
At the moment, detailed information and possible grounds for such a decision of the expert commission remain unknown to the general public. It should be mentioned that the package of documents required to complete the construction of the Krasnogorsk hydroelectric complex and the commissioning of its launch site has been submitted to experts for consideration several times. For example, in 2023, this project received a positive conclusion. However, the history of the project also knows critical assessments: a year earlier, in 2022, Oleg Shishov, who in the past held the post of head of NPO Mostovik, commented on the technical documentation. He characterized the project presented then as “not very professional.”
In the future, significant changes may be made to the project documentation, which will affect the future fate of the facility. So, in April of this year, according to the publication “Gorod55”, it became known about the plans of Rosatom Service to integrate a 7-8 MW hydroelectric power plant into the structures of the Krasnogorsk hydroelectric power plant.
