A project for the reconstruction of the Gagarin dam is being prepared in Kostanay

Gagarin dam in Kostanay is in poor condition and requires reconstruction. This conclusion was made based on the results of a technical survey of a hydraulic structure conducted by an expert organization.

As reported in the Department of natural Resources of the Akimat of Kostanay region with reference to the city department of housing and communal services, it was the conclusion of experts that became the basis for making a decision on the need for reconstruction. Based on it, design and estimate documentation is currently being developed.

The next stage will be the preparation of an estimate to determine the cost of work to eliminate the identified defects. After that, the authorities will conduct competitive procedures to select a contractor. At the same time, the reconstruction project itself will be developed only if the necessary budgetary funds are allocated.

Earlier, the housing and communal services department of Kostanay, on whose balance sheet the dam is located, held a tender for a technical inspection of the facility. The initial cost of the work was 1.38 million tenge. The winner of the tender was the company “Prestige Remstroy” LLP, which offered to perform a survey for 780 thousand tenge.

The Gagarin dam is designed to maintain the water level in the Tobol riverbed within the boundaries of the city.
