The Kambar-Ata HPP-2 is preparing to launch the second hydroelectric unit

The active phase of the project on commissioning of the second hydroelectric unit of the Kambar-Ata HPP-2 continues in Kyrgyzstan. This is reported by the press service of JSC “Electric Stations”. To attract qualified performers, the project was divided into three lots. The DEC–SM consortium, which unites specialists from the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Korea, assumed responsibility for the work in the first two areas. The Chinese company Sinohydro Bureau 16 is engaged in the implementation of the third lot.

To date, a number of key activities have been carried out at the construction site of the hydroelectric power station. Specialists have prepared and leveled the main areas intended for the placement of equipment, as well as areas for office and temporary residential infrastructure. The builders have already completed concreting the foundations for administrative and residential buildings for employees of contractors. In parallel, the process of installing metal structures has started, which includes the installation of load-bearing elements and the arrangement of the roof.

Technical specialists, together with representatives of design organizations, inspected the water conduit of the second hydraulic unit, as well as the compensator of the first unit. Electric Stations notes that the preparatory procedures necessary for the transition to the main stage of construction and installation works and the subsequent commissioning of equipment have begun at the facility.

The project is financially supported by the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. Technical support, as well as engineering supervision over the quality and progress of work is carried out by the international consulting company Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG.
