Small hydroelectric power plants of Kyrgyzstan examined to prevent accidents
At the end of January, a thermal imaging inspection of the equipment was carried out at the cascade of small HPPs, including Bystrovskaya and Bala-Saruu HPPs, which are part of JSC Chakan HPP. This was reported in the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the agency, such inspections are carried out annually in the autumn-winter period at night to identify potential malfunctions and prevent emergencies. The purpose of the survey is to ensure stable and reliable operation of hydroelectric power plants.
Thermal imaging analysis allows you to identify areas with elevated temperatures at electrical nodes that are under high load. Overheating indicates possible defects in the contacts that need to be eliminated as part of the ongoing repair.
The survey results are recorded in a special journal and will be used to plan repair work in 2025.
