New sites for hydroelectric power stations have been put up for auction in Kyrgyzstan

The Green Energy Fund under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic announced a repeated tender for the transfer of land plots for the construction of renewable energy facilities (RES), including hydroelectric power plants (HPPs). A total of 21 lots were put up for auction, follows from the official announcement of the fund.

The proposed sites are intended for the implementation of various renewable energy projects, including small hydroelectric power plants, solar power plants and wind power plants. The total capacity of the facilities varies from 0.32 MW to 30 MW.

The largest number of lots falls on small hydropower plants – 16 projects located in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Batken, Chui and Issyk-Kul regions, as well as one cascade of small hydropower plants in the Chui region. Three sites are proposed for the construction of wind farms in Naryn and Issyk-Kul regions, two sites in Osh and Jalal—Abad regions for SES.

The competition will be held on March 12, 2025 at 14:00 in Bishkek, in the building of the Green Energy Foundation. Applications for participation are accepted until 18:00 on March 7, 2025.   • Lot No. 7 – small hydroelectric power station (5.9 MW), Jalal-Abad region, Toktogul district, Kaiynda site, 3.62 ha.
  • Lot No.8 – cascade of small hydroelectric power stations, Chui region, Keminsky district, Ak-Tuz settlement, Sary-Kungoy site, 13.9 hectares.
  • Lot No.9 – small hydroelectric power station (6 MW), Osh region, Kara-Kulzhinsky district, Oi-Tal village, 30.55 ha.
  • Lot No. 10 – small hydroelectric power station (1.3 MW), Jalal-Abad region, Nooken district, Mailuu-Suu city, 0.32 ha.
