A new reservoir will be created on the Kargyba River in Kazakhstan

A new reservoir will be built on the Kargyba River in the Aksuat district of the Abai region of Kazakhstan. Work is scheduled to begin in 2026. Design and estimate documentation for the construction of the facility is currently being developed, the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

For the timely and high-quality implementation of the project, a commission of specialists from the local branch of the RSE “Kazvodkhoz”, employees of the akimat of the Aksuat district and representatives of the contracting organization inspected the sites where construction work will take place.

“During the inspection, all parties discussed the project in detail and made their suggestions. Together with the district akimat, internal channels were inspected. Local executive bodies will develop design and estimate documentation for their reconstruction. The new reservoir and main channels will ensure the full and efficient operation of the irrigation systems of the district,” said Abai Zharkynbek Baisabyrov, director of the Kazvodkhoz branch of the RSE in the region.
