New HPP “Shamshy”: construction works have reached the final stage

The implementation of the project for the construction of a small hydroelectric power station “Shamshy”, the design capacity of which will be 1.7 MW, continues in the Chui district of Kyrgyzstan. Information on the progress of the work was provided by the Ministry of Energy of the country.

As of August, construction work is in an active phase. The main hydraulic equipment responsible for water intake and the 10 kV power transmission line are already fully ready. Work on the creation of a settling tank and a derivation channel is nearing completion, the readiness of which is estimated at 95% and 85%, respectively.

The installation of the water pipe through which the water will be supplied to the turbine continues – this stage is completed by 80%. At the same time, the construction of a machine room is underway, where the main equipment will be installed. Currently, builders are laying walls, the readiness of this facility is 30%.

The key equipment for the future station – a hydro turbine – has already been delivered to the construction site from the Czech Republic. To ensure control over the progress of work and security, four video surveillance cameras have been installed on the site.

According to the schedule, the completion of all construction works is scheduled for August, and the commissioning of the hydroelectric power station is scheduled for September 2025.
