The first unit of the Sebzor Dam is promised to be launched in June

The first unit of the Sebzor Dam will be put into operation in the third decade of June this year. This was stated by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma during a visit to the construction site of the station, the press service of the department reports.

“Commissioning of the first power plant unit with a capacity of 3.6 megawatts is scheduled for the third decade of June this year, preparatory work for its trial operation is at the final stage,” Daler Juma said.

During the visit, the progress of construction works was inspected, as well as the installation and installation of technical equipment at the power plant.

The Minister of Energy noted that the Sebzor Dam with a total capacity of 11 megawatts is one of the most important strategic and infrastructure projects to provide stable and reliable electricity to a remote mountainous region of the country.

After its full commissioning, it will play an important role in providing uninterrupted electricity to the population and socio-economic institutions of cities and districts of GBAO.

Recall, the Sebzor Dam, which is being built on the Shakhdara River of Roshtkalinsky district, consists of 3 power units. When fully commissioned, it will generate 11 MW of electricity.

The dam of the power plant will reach a height of 8.5 meters and a length of 65 meters, and the volume of its reservoir will be 250 thousand cubic meters.

At the same time, it was noted that this facility will not only contribute to the stable supply of electricity to the local population, but will also significantly increase opportunities for the economic and social development of the region.

With the commissioning of the Dam, the total energy capacity of GBAO will increase by 25%.
