Eight reservoirs in Almaty region returned to state ownership
The Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Almaty region of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted a large-scale audit of water resources management in the region. According to its results, 8 reservoirs and property worth 20 billion tenge were returned to the state, the press service of the Prosecutor’s office of Almaty region reports.
Thus, the environmental prosecutor’s office of Almaty region revealed violations on the part of trust managers who ignored contractual obligations to maintain the proper technical condition of eight reservoirs, in particular, did not conduct a survey of water management systems and facilities.
“These circumstances could have irreversible consequences both for the life and health of the population and the environment,” the environmental Prosecutor’s Office of Almaty region notes.
It is also reported that currently 8 contracts with unscrupulous managers have been terminated, and the property has been returned to the ownership of the state in the amount of more than 20 billion tenge.
According to the act of prosecutorial supervision, authorized bodies are working on a multifactorial technical inspection of water bodies.
