There is a discharge of water from large reservoirs throughout Kazakhstan
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan discharges water from large reservoirs in the northern, western, eastern and central regions of the country to receive and safely pass flood waters. As of March 20, the situation is as follows:
In Akmola region, 9.95 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from the Astana reservoir, 1.74 cubic meters per second from the Seletinsky reservoir, and 30 cubic meters per second from the Chaglin reservoir.
In Aktobe region, 0.5 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from Aktobe and Kargaly reservoirs. Both facilities were reconstructed last year. Now they are actively accumulating water and are filled, on average, by 42%.
In the East Kazakhstan region, 605 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from the Ust-Kamenogorsk reservoir, and 611 cubic meters per second from the Bukhtarma reservoir.
648 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from the Shulba reservoir in the Abai region.
In the West Kazakhstan region, 10.6 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from the Kirov and Bitik reservoirs, 8.1 cubic meters per second from the Dunguluk and Pyatimar reservoirs.
In Karaganda region, 28.3 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from the Intumak reservoir, 20 cubic meters per second from the Samarkand reservoir, and 13.7 cubic meters of water per second from the Sherubai–Nurinsky reservoir.
In Kostanay region, 10 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from the Verkhne-Tobolsk and Karatomar reservoirs.
In the North Kazakhstan region, 91.5 cubic meters of water per second are discharged from the Sergeyevsky reservoir, 42.86 cubic meters of water per second from the Petropavlovsk reservoir.
